Breeding process

The Premium Zeeland Creuse is grown on the Oosterschelde. The Oysters are ready for consumption after about 3.5 years of cultivation, which means that the cultivation process takes a little longer than the normal Zeeland Creuse. The Oysters can be consumed when the R is in the month (September to April), in the summer months this oyster reproduces.

The cultivation process of the Premium Zeeuwse Creuse starts on oyster tables in bags, when the oysters are a bit larger they are sown on the best plots. During the growth process we keep working on the shape of the oyster. We do this by dragging special nets over the oysters so that the oysters have a harder shell and a beautiful shape. The combination of selecting the perfect location to grow the oyster and putting a lot of time and effort into working on the shape makes this the Premium Zeeuwse Creuse.

Sorting

The sorting of the Zeeuwse Creuse is done by weight, the dimensions are indicated by numbers. The No. 1 is the largest and the No. 4 is often the smallest sold size. This way of large designation is the opposite of the flat Oyster where number 6 is the largest and number 3 is the smallest.
