The Zeeland Creuse oyster has a rough shell and a considerable bulge. The Zeeland Creuse has a fresh salty taste with a creamy texture. The Oyster weighs approximately between 60 and 150 grams per piece including shell.

Breeding process
The Zeeland Creuse is mainly grown on the Oosterschelde and partly also in the Grevelingenmeer. The Oysters are ready for consumption after about 3 years of cultivation, which means they grow much faster than the Zeeland Platter. The Oysters can be consumed when the R is in the month (September to April), in the summer months this oyster reproduces.

Sorting
The sorting of the Zeeuwse Creuse is done by weight, the dimensions are indicated by numbers. The No. 1 is the largest and the No. 4 is often the smallest sold size. This way of large designation is the opposite of the flat Oyster where number 6 is the largest and number 3 is the smallest.
